Sunday greetings, everyone.

kris kristoffersonToday, different places around the world did or didn't turn their clocks back an hour from daylight savings time. Grandma Cybersalt and I did, which means we got an extra hour of sleep last night. There have been years where I used that extra hour to get more work done, but this year I actually used it to sleep because as I age it is increasingly important that be a standard use of my time.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday - and Happy Reformation Day (to those who celebrate it)!

Burro Schmidt tunnelA week and a half ago, our province had an election and it looks like one party is going to have a majority based upon 23 votes. The results are not official for 2 more weeks because the margin in some ridings was so slim an automatic judicial review must be done. In the meantime, British Columbians are chilling and enjoying being happy - or at least not being mean to each other. All this is to say that if you have an election near you that isn't decided by the end of the day it takes place on, just relax!

Today's video share is the curious tale of Burro Schmidt's Tunnel. I think it was the huge loss in his life that moved him to this quest.

jump from spaceI bit the bullet and bought some LED lights for the front garden at Cybersalt World Headquarters. I was holding off for the longest time because I was afraid I would end up receiving something that was a rip-off, but I am very pleased with the results. The lights come on 15 minutes after sunset and turn off at 12:00am. I really enjoy tech that I can set up to automatically run and then forget about because it means more things being accomplished that I don't have to pay attention to (other than to enjoy the lights when I see them!)

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

A big chunk of my Saturday (when I write the news and line up the next edition) went to errands and shopping, tidying the house, and then picking up Grandma Cybersalt at the airport later in the evening. It's a lot of pressure taking care of Susan's favourite person while she is away!

Pompeii CornusGrandma Cybersalt is off to another conference. She is attending The Refugee Highway Partnership: North America, gathering in Winnipeg. As I am not travelling with her this time, my job is to stay home and successfully repeat the science experiment of keeping myself alive for 4 days - 2 of which are full days on my own, lol.

Today's video share is of an instrument built by María Ruíz and Abraham Cupeiro, based on the cornus found at Pompeii in the 19th century.
