Raising My Sights

Details
Published: 15 March 2020

girl3My six-year-old granddaughter, Caitlynd, and I stopped at a Tim Horton's donut shop for a blueberry muffin. As we were going out the door, a young teenage boy was coming in.

This young man had no hair on the sides of his head and tuft of blue spiked hair on top of it. One of his nostrils was pierced, and attached to the hoop that ran through the hole, was a chain that draped across his face and attached to a ring he was wearing in his ear. He held a skateboard under one arm and a basketball under the other.

quote 1903

“Why are you looking for the Living One in a cemetery? He is not here, but raised up. Remember how he told you when you were still back in Galilee that he had to be handed over to sinners, be killed on a cross, and in three days rise up?” Then they remembered Jesus’ words.

Unanswered Prayer, Disappointment, Faith

Details
Published: 11 March 2020

Dear God,

First, my car broke down
I was very late for work
But I missed that awful accident
Was that your handiwork?

I found a house I loved
But others got there first
I was angry, then relieved
When I heard the pipes had burst!

Yesterday, I found the perfect dress
But the color was too pale
Today, I found the dress in red
Would you believe, it was on sale!

I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

Patience, Children

Details
Published: 08 March 2020

car dashA friend was driving with her two children in the car. Her 7 year old son kept asking the traditional question, "How much longer?"

The Mom told him it was not much farther but he kept fussing. Finally, the tiny voice of her 5 year old daughter floated forward with great wisdom.

She said, "The road is short but the way is long."
