The best time to do a full day's shopping is in the morning.

A little boy just couldn't learn. One day his teacher asked him who signed the Declaration of Independence. He didn't know. For almost a week she asked him the same question every day, but still he couldn't come up with the right answer.

Finally, in desperation, she called the boy's father to her office. "Your boy won't tell me who signed the Declaration of Independence," she complained.

"Come here, son, and sit down," the dad said to the boy. "Now if you signed that crazy thing, just admit it so we can get out of here!"

"I forgot most of what I came to the store to buy," Tom said listlessly.

I don't have a video to share with you today. Instead I thought I'd share a fun link with you.

When I was little, I was told that if I started digging a hole and kept going I would end up in China. As a child I didn't have access to the machinery required to test this. As an adult I don't want to test this because I have no room on my calendar to become a political prisoner. OK, I also still don't have access to the machinery to try it.

The fact is, after visiting the "Antipodes Map" website I now know where I'd end up and as you can see from the picture on the right, there would be a big flushing sound just before the end of my quest!

During this time of exclusive lockdown, I and the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage have grown accustomed to silence.

Don't get me wrong here. I do not object to noise as long as it's the right kind of noise. However, I do have a good warm feeling about silence. What was that song? "The Sounds of Silence."

Silence is wonderful and soothing, enabling me to sit back and enjoy a good read. There is nothing like reading a book, and from my point of view, I have not read a book unless I have read it ten times. If it is a good book, the more I read it, the better it is.
