During the space race of the 60's, NASA decided that they needed a ball point pen that would write in conditions of zero gravity.

After much research and development the "Astronaut Pen" was produced at a cost to the taxpayer of approximately $241 million.  The pen worked and enjoyed some modest success as a novelty here on Earth.

The Russians, faced with the same problem, used a pencil.

Two goober were working on a house. The one who was nailing down siding would reach into his nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over his shoulder or nail it in.

The other guy, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, "Why are you throwing those nails away?"

The first explained, "If I pull a nail out of my pouch and it's pointed TOWARD me, I throw it away 'cause it's defective. If it's pointed toward the HOUSE, then I nail it in!"

The second got completely upset and yelled, "You Goober!!! The nails pointed toward you aren't defective! They're for the OTHER side of the house!!"

One day a rich man drives pass a open field and he sees a guy standing there eating grass that was about 2 inches long.  The rich man stopped the car and asked the guy why he was eating grass.

The guy replied that he was poor and had no money with which to buy food.
The rich man told him to climb in the car and come home with him, but the poor man said that he had six children in the area also eating grass.

The rich man said that that didn't matter and they were all welcome to come home with him.  As they where riding along in the car, the poor man said that he was grateful that the rich man was going to help them.

At this point the rich man thought for a while and then figured that before inviting them into his car he should have mentioned that the grass in his own back yard was ten inches long.

As salesman was assigned to secure an important client but failed in his mission.

He faxed his secretary and asked her to break the news indirectly to his boss. His note read, "Failed in securing client, prepare the boss."

He received the following fax from his secretary:

"The boss is prepared... prepare yourself."
