Cybersalt News
Sunday greetings, everyone - and happy Father's Day to those who are celebrating!
There was no mailing last Chicken Thursday as Grandma Cybersalt and I were spending the last night of trip back east to visit family. My mom turned 83 the day before. She was recently diagnosed with dementia, and so we were not quite sure what our time together would be like, but we left everything in God's hands and ended up having a wonderful visit with her and my dad. Dad, who is going to be 76 is taking good care of mom in spite of his own health issues.
It was sad to say goodbye and fly back to the other side of the country from them, but as Y. Knott said, "Though sad, we can always be thankful when good things come to end because they were good things! What is received with a happy heart should be remembered with a grateful one."
Today's video share is look at the speed of light and how fast it is. It's even faster than good times seem to end!
Enjoy the rest of today's mailing.

Dads and Babies
My two daughters were having a discussion about family resemblance.
"I look like Mom," said my nine-year-old, "but I have Dad's eyes and Dad's lips."
The six-year-old said, "And I look just like Dad, but I have light hair."
Then she turned to me. "Mom," she asked, "what does Dad have to do with us being born anyway?"
Her older sister jumped right in. "Don't be stupid, Christina. Dad is the one who drove Mom to the hospital."

Attendance Deal
A Baptist preacher went to visit a member of the community and invited him to come to church Sunday morning. It seems that this man was a producer of fine peach brandy, and told the preacher that he would attend his church IF the pastor would drink some of his brandy and admit doing so in front of his congregation. The preacher agreed and drank up.
Sunday morning the man visited the church. The preacher recognized the man from the pulpit and said:
"I see Mr. Johnson is here with us this morning. I want to thank him publicly for his hospitality this week and especially for the peaches he gave me and the spirit in which they were given."
Quote #2186
"Dad hugs are strong hugs that can say so many things, like 'I've got you. I'm always right here. And I'll always love you.'"

Legacy, Parenting, Mentoring
A teacher was upset that one little boy was swearing in class.
"Todd," she said, "you shouldn't use that kind of language. Where did you hear those words?"
"My daddy says that," Todd replied.
"Well, that doesn't matter," the teacher explained. "I don't want to hear that language in here again."
Turning away, the teacher muttered "At least he doesn't know what it means."
"I do, too!" the little boy replied. "It means the car won't start!
Featured Illustrations are items well suited for illustrating or inspiring a point in a sermon, speech, or devotional. Funny, moving, or perhaps even graphic, the point of them is the point you make with them.
Rev. James Snyder, God's Penman, writes . . . .
I’d Rather Kiss a Goat
There are very few things in my life I regret; at least that I can remember.
One of the good things about getting old is that you can forget many things. The important thing is to forget the right thing, which is a challenge. You can be sure I work on this all the time. It takes a really good memory to forget the right things.

Over the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
