Margie received a bill from the hospital for her recent surgery, and was astonished to see a $900 fee for the anesthesiologist.
She called his office to demand an explanation. "Is this some kind of mistake?" Margie asked when she got the doctor on the phone.
"No, not at all," the doctor said calmly. "Well," said Margie, "that's awfully costly for knocking someone out."
"Not at all," replied the doctor. "I knock you out for free. The 900 dollars is for bringing you back around."
I'm not sure what yetis have against penguins, but I guess if you want to play baseball in a wintery location you do what you have to. I don't think there are enough Yeti in the world to form a team of their own - let alone have their own professional baseball league. And you have to know that if they were allowed to play with humans, their size would always make them vulnerable to accusations of steroid abuse.
Actually, the penguins don't seem to mind too much. Maybe they put up with the abuse because that's the price it takes for a flightless bird to enjoy the freedom of flight. The Wright brothers certainly had a more technical approach to mankind flying, but they certainly did not dress so formally for their air travel.
So, help the yeti and the penguin out. One mouse click makes the penguin jump and a second click makes the yeti swing.
This was a story told to us by our chemistry master at school. A female student wished to make some potassium hydroxide solution (aqueous) and decided to throw a large lump of potassium into a bucket of water.
Her professor observed what she was about to do, out of the corner of his eye and hurried towards her, and after confirming this was what she was intending to do, asked her first to stir the water in the bucket for five minutes before adding the potassium.
She was puzzled and ran after him to ask the purpose of this action.
'It will give me time to get away' said the professor.
It was a few years ago when I realized that there was pretty much a world championship for every activity that means anything to anyone. If you play rock, paper, scissors - there is a world championship. The same holds true for pig hollarin', paper airplane flying, chasing a rolling cheese down a hill, juggling, talking backwards, speed talking, speed walking, oyster shucking, and hotdog eating.
In fact, I would not be surprised if there was a world championship for listing world championships. So, just in case there is and you are planning to compete, make sure you include freehand circle drawing in your list.
